, Dwayne Johnson has sent a message of congratulations to his new costar, Aldis Hodge, who will he portraying Hawkman in Johnson’s
Black Adam
movie. Johnson included a transcript of the phone call between the two actors revealing the casting, which can be seen below:

Both Johnson and Hodge are clearly over the moon about the casting announcement, as both are incredibly confident that Hodge will be perfect for the role of Hawkman. The hero is one of the earliest characters ever created in DC lore, serving as
one of the first members of the Justice Society
and one of Black Adam’s most noteworthy foes.
Hawkman will be teaming up with Noah Centenio’s Atom Smasher against Black Adam, who will be in for quite the fight in
the first ever big screen adaptation of the popular DC villain
. The character has been utilized in multiple animated shows, along with the live-action Arrowverse, and fans are already going crazy thinking of his debut in theaters next year.
