The Skywalker Saga may have ended already, but there are still more stories to tell about the galaxy far, far away. While the movie branch of Star Wars is currently on hiatus, the streaming side of the franchise is like a well-oiled machine right now in terms of producing new content to expand the narrative even further.
Throughout its two-season run,
The Mandalorian
started the Disney+ era of Star Wars
on a strong note, and as a result, things are looking up for Lucasfilm. It was confirmed during Disney Investor Day that spinoff shows,
Ahsoka
and
Rangers of the News Republic
,
will be released and the storylines will happen within the timeline of
The Mandalorian
.

On top of that, another offshoot was announced during the tail-end of the massive Season 2 finale of
The Mandalorian
, and it will focus on
Temeura Morrison’s Boba Fett
. Set to be released in December 2021,
The Book of Boba Fett
will feature Morrison
alongside
Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand,
and the show will be executive produced by
The Mandalorian
showrunners Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni as well as Robert Rodriguez.
Not much is known as to whether other characters from
The Mandalorian
will appear, but at least one actor from the prequel trilogy has thrown his hat into the ring to potentially join the highly-talked-about spinoff.
NEWS
In a tweet, Daniel Logan, who played Boba Fett during the prequel trilogy of the Skywalker Saga,
shared that he would be willing to return
“in some way”
in next year’s
The Book of Boba Fett
. Logan then expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards fans and the Star Wars franchise in general.
I am overwhelmed & touched by all the ideas, comments & support you are all showing for me to, in some way, return as #BobaFett. I hope to! But know, if I don’t, I am so honored to have been a part of such a loved character & to be a part of #StarWars. Thank you everyone! MTFBWY pic.twitter.com/oOCwxJlyKc
WHAT THIS MEANS
To recap, Logan played the young version of Boba Fett during
Attack of the Clones
, and he was then joined by Morrison who portrayed his father, Jango Fett. More so, the actor also voiced Boba Fett during
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
. Given that, it would be fitting to see Logan return in some capacity in the upcoming spinoff since it would pay homage to the original father-son duo of the Fett family.
Admittedly, there are many ways for Logan to return in
The Book of Boba Fett
since Star Wars is home to a plethora of interesting characters. Plot details for the spinoff are still being kept under wraps, but it would make narrative sense for the series to showcase how Boba Fett survived his apparent fall in the Sarlacc Pit.
