The massive shift of the DCEU’s current slate of films made headlines in the past days,
leaving one project
in the form of Dwayne Johnson’s
Black Adam
without a release date. While Warner Bros. is still mapping out the release timeline of the DCEU film, details about the upcoming project have already surfaced in the past weeks.
Black Adam
made waves during
last August’s DC FanDome
event, with Johnson sharing concrete details about what to expect. Aside from Johnson, the much-anticipated DCEU film already banners a star-studded cast with the likes of
Noah Centineo
(
Charlie’s Angels
) and
Aldis Hodge
(
Black Mirror
) joining the project as Atom Smasher and Hawkman respectively.

And now, a new rumor points to an impressive new addition to the growing cast of
Black Adam
.
RUMOR
DC Comics
The Illuminerdi
shared in a report
that Warner Bros. offered a major role to
Rush Hour 3
and
City on a Hill
actress Sarah Shahi to play Adrianna Tomaz a.k.a. Isis in
Black Adam
. The role is being described as a
“female lead and love interest”
to Dwayne Johnson’s titular character.
WHAT THIS MEANS
Black Adam
’s lack of release date could prove to be concerning to most fans, but the potential addition of Sarah Shahi as Isis could serve as good news in the meantime. For those unaware, DC comics lore indicate that Adrianna Tomaz is the eventual wife of Black Adam.

That being said, the inclusion of Shahi’s character in the film could essentially mean that the history of the anti-hero will be fleshed out even more while staying true to its comic book roots. The power set of Isis is similar to Black Adam, but the source is an amulet of the Goddess of the same name. It’s a safe bet that the origin of Isis will be thoroughly explored as well, given the close ties of the character to Teth Adam.
If Shahi lands the role of Isis, this will mark her second role for DC since she previously voiced Killer Frost in a lone episode from the first season of
Young Justice
. Previously,
Black Adam
producer Hiram Garcia
teased that Dwayne Johnson’s character
will have a
“compelling journey”
during the film, and the addition of Isis could deem essential to that aspect.
