With Phase 4 of the MCU starting to unfold, key projects in the future of the franchise are undergoing various stages of production. The Disney+
Hawkeye
series appears to still be filming, as lead actors
Jeremy Renner
and
Hailee Steinfeld
continue to share intriguing on-set photos.
The show is slated for release later this year and is set to highlight the archer and Avenger Hawkeye and his protégé Kate Bishop. Comic book fans will also be excited by the fact that
Hawkeye
seems like it will borrow heavily from the critically acclaimed Marvel comic book run
Hawkeye: My Life as a Weapon
written by Matt Fraction.

MARVELOUS FRIENDS
Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner has shared a new picture
on Instagram
of him goofing around on the set of
Avengers: Endgame.
Standing alongside fellow cast members Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, Renner expresses nostalgia for his time working on the film, saying he
“misses these fine gents,”
referring to Hemsworth and Downey Jr., as well as
“the rest of the gang.”

ENDGAME THROWBACK
As production continues on the Disney+
Hawkeye
series, it makes sense that Renner would be reminded of his time on other MCU productions. This photo serves as a nice tribute to his work on
Avengers: Endgame
, as well as to his castmates that he may not work with again anytime soon.

Additionally, fans are expecting to see more of Hawkeye’s time as Ronin. Despite the extent of which this will be explored still being unknown, this gives further reason to believe
Endgame
will serve as heavy source material for Hawkeye’s new series.
While there is a possibility that Renner’s feelings of nostalgia were precipitated by some element of his work on the
Hawkeye
series - perhaps a flashback to the events of
Endgame
or some sort of big-time Avenger cameo - it seems more likely that this post just exists as a fun throwback to that film.
Nevertheless, the show seems to be shaping up nicely, with even Jeremy Renner reminiscing on the MCU’s past.
