. But even though Zack Snyder’s vision is now available to stream on HBO Max, it seems the director still has more story to tell.

Justice League
saga.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE LOVE TRIANGLE & A NEW BATMAN?
In an interview with
Vanity Fair
, Zack Snyder discussed storylines that Warner Bros. had rejected, such as
Lois Lane’s pregnancy
and a problematic romance between Bruce Wayne and Lois Lane.
According to Snyder, Bruce Wayne and Lois Late would’ve formed a relationship after Superman’s death creating "
this insane conflict
" for the Caped Crusader.

“The intention was that Bruce fell in love with Lois and then realized that the only way to save the world was to bring Superman back to life. So he had this insane conflict, because Lois, of course, was still in love with Superman."
To further complicate matters for Bruce Wayne, Snyder’s comments imply the Bruce Wayne seriously planned on a future with Lois.
“We had this beautiful speech where [Bruce] said to Alfred: ‘I never had a life outside the cave. I never imagined a world for me beyond this. But this woman makes me think that if I can get this group of gods together, then my job is done. I can quit. I can stop.’ And of course, that doesn’t work out for him.”
In the interview, Snyder claimed Batman "
would have been plagued by guilt for not stepping in front of the blast that killed Lois
" and that Superman "
loses the will to fight
.”
This understandably led to Darkseid capitalizing on Superman’s moment of weakness contributing to the loss of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and more.

“The world falls because Superman succumbs to the Anti-Life Equation, and that’s it. That’s what the post-apocalyptic world is: Superman just searching for Batman to kill him to get his revenge for the death of Lois.”
The Snyder Cut director had more to say about his initial plan, including his plan for the new Batman "
to be Lois and Superman’s son
" and to carry on Bruce Wayne’s crusade.
“It was going to be Lois and Superman’s son. He doesn’t have any powers, and then he was going to end up being the new Batman.”
Snyder described a flash-forward scene where both Clark Kent and Lois Lane would’ve taken their adult son Bruce Kent to Wayne’s Batcave.
“Twenty years later, on the anniversary of [Batman’s] death, they take young Bruce Kent down to the Batcave and they say, ‘Your Uncle Bruce would’ve been proud if you did this.’ Anyway, something like that.”
IS IT THE END OR ONLY THE BEGINNING?
Snyder had always planned on more than one
Justice League
film; due to the somewhat ambiguous ending of his
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
, it would seem the director is sticking to the story he always planned to tell and didn’t fully adapt his Snyder Cut to a singular film.

In that same light, the
director hasn’t closed the door on the possibility of returning to the DCEU
to finish the story.
Now, Snyder’s relationship with Warner Bros. is mixed at best. But due to the positive reception for the film thus far, the momentum building behind the
#RestoreTheSnyderVerse
campaign, and the director continuing to reveal his plans, all eyes are on Warner Bros. to see if the studio is open to more of Snyder’s in its future.
