Zack Snyder’s Justice League
will completely reinvent the core members of the superhero team while also introducing new story elements that could lay the groundwork for the future of the DCEU. After years of waiting and a full-blown grassroots campaign, Snyder diehards
received their wish
last May when it was officially announced that the director’s version of
Justice League
will finally see the light of day.
From that point on, Snyder has been hard at work in terms of finishing his cut of the film, with the director even regrouping with some cast members
to do reshoots
. While doing so, the visionary filmmaker continued to provide fans with
several tidbits
about what’s different in his
Justice League.

On top of that, fans also took part in breaking down some Easter eggs that Snyder teased on social media. At one point,
one fan
even went out of their way to translate Darkseid’s mural from the brief Snyder Cut teaser that was released last June.
And now, another fan pointed out an impressive callback that Snyder included in the latest trailer of his
Justice League
.

discovered
a parallel visual between two separate scenes from
Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice
and the latest Snyder Cut trailer.
The one frame from
Dawn of Justice
shows a devil-focused painting that was briefly seen in Lex Luthor’s house, while the other is a brief shot of Darkseid from the beginning of the Snyder Cut trailer.
Looking closely at the two frames, the brief shot of Darkseid resembles the position of the devil’s wings from the painting, while the arc-shaped gap between the devil’s wings seems to bear a resemblance to the villain’s chest symbol.
WHAT THIS MEANS
As it is, this is a prime example of Snyder’s immense attention to detail when developing his films. While it’s not yet confirmed that this callback is purposeful, it’s safe to say that it was due to Snyder’s background of placing symbolism in his movies.
It’s worth pointing out that the painting was featured from a scene in Lex Luthor’s house, and the villain even hinted at the arrival of an imminent threat that comes
“from the sky:"
Connecting the dots, this quote is seemingly tied to the Easter egg above.
“Devils don’t come from hell beneath us. They come from the sky.”
Interestingly, in the official trailer breakdown of the Snyder Cut, the director previously acknowledged several interesting Easter Eggs such as the presence of
the same angel statue
from
Watchmen
and
Sucker Punch
as well as a
key scene
inspired by
Lord of the Rings
. Given that, it will be exciting to discover more callbacks not just to the DCEU, but to other franchises as well.
All in all, it seems that more surprises will be revealed in the months leading to the eventual release of
Zack Snyder’s Justice League
, and fans will no doubt be excited to learn more down the line.
