finally bringing director Zack Snyder’s vision for the DCEU’s team-up movie to life

. The next few days will be jam-packed with analysis and dissection of the four-hour cut, which has been

a major topic of discussion for DC fans and critics

, especially for most of the past year.

The Snyder Cut is set to feature multiple cameo appearances that were notably absent from the original in 2017, including

Harry Lennix’s Martian Manhunter

and

Jared Leto’s disheveled take on the Joker

. However, for everything that’s been confirmed for the plot of this movie, there have been a few theories that haven’t panned out in terms of making it to the final cut.

Recently, Zack Snyder touched on one of the more wild theories to be released online.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter,

, director Zack Snyder looked back to the fan theories regarding Ryan Reynolds returning as Green Lantern for

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

. While Snyder reveals that there was

“another idea (he) had for the Green Lantern that wasn’t Ryan,”

there was definitely the possibility of having

“Ryan as the additional Lantern”

in the story:

“There was another idea I had for the Green Lantern that wasn’t Ryan, and so I thought that if we had gone down this path of Green Lantern, I would’ve had Ryan as the additional Lantern…but that’s another story.”

DON’T MAKE THE SUPER SUIT GREEN…OR ANIMATED!

While

Ryan Reynolds mostly used this rumor as a fun and entertaining publicity stunt

, there’s one potential path that this movie could have taken with the Green Lantern.

Reynolds played Hal Jordan in 2011’s

Green Lantern

, but Jordan is far from the only famous iteration of the character.

Snyder has pointed out that he actually prefers the John Stewart take on the hero

, which could mean Snyder would’ve made Stewart the main Lantern and had Reynolds’ Hal Jordan in a more supporting role.

Whether this cameo actually could have come to reality is still a mystery, but it certainly made for some entertaining discussions from fans and filmmakers alike.
