As the pandemic brought on by COVID-19 spread its way across the globe, many industries and services ground to a halt. Now that the crisis is showing signs of being somewhat alleviated (at least for the time being) we’re hearing that various television shows and movies are gradually being allowed to resume production, such as WandaVision. Marvel Studios was certainly no exception to these delays, as all of their ongoing television and film productions were forced to temporarily cease. ADVERTISEMENT
RUMOR Scooper Liz Hill has dropped a bit of news on her Twitter. Liz’s tweet, which can be viewed below, indicates that Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series, Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier resume filming in July.
We were all excited by recent news Paul Bettany had to cancel a July comiccon due to WandaVision filming. I’ve just learned that #Loki and #FalconAndtheWinterSoldier are also expected to continue filming in July. This is a new source for me & I must keep it anon but I believe it! pic.twitter.com/nayj453ZaI
WHAT THIS MEANS Liz Hill has had a solid track record in recent months, so it’s easy for one to become at least somewhat excited over the prospect of these shows getting back to filming. What’s become the question is whether The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will still be able to make its original release window of late Summer. That seems out of the question as of now, so fans will likely have to brace themselves for a bit of a delay for the highly anticipated new MCU series. ADVERTISEMENT
Furthermore, restrictions and guidelines could prove troublesome for large-scale productions, as has been speculated for such films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, but at the end of the day, this is Disney we’re talking about, with all of Disney’s vast resources to boot. If anyone can make things go off without a hitch, it’s the Mouse.
