It has been long-since announced that the MCU Disney+ series
WandaVision
takes place after the universe-shaking event of the Blip in
Avengers: Endgame
. The sitcom portion of the series appears to defy the typical rules of time and space, given Wanda’s accelerated pregnancy, but there’s a world outside Westview that operates on a normal timeline. The exact point of said timeline remained a mystery…until now.
WANDAVISION
TAKES PLACE SHORTLY AFTER
AVENGERS: ENDGAME
During the scene in which
Monica Rambeau returns to her workplace
at S.W.O.R.D. in
WandaVision
’s fourth episode, acting director of the organization Tyler Hayward tells her, “It’s been three weeks and you’re the first to report,” referring to Rambeau being the first to return to her position after being dusted five years earlier and subsequently restored by the Blip.

WandaVision
, Episode 4
While three weeks have passed between the Blip in
Avengers: Endgame
and the beginning of
WandaVision
’s events, it’s not clear how much time has passed since we last saw Wanda Maximoff herself in the MCU, which was during Tony Stark’s funeral. It’s likely that this was just a day or two after
Endgame
’s final battle, which would still leave about three weeks between her talk with Clint Barton about lost loved ones and the beginning of the sitcom takeover of Westview.
WANDAVISION
‘S PLACE IN THE MCU
WandaVision
almost certainly taking place in the year 2023 - the same as
Avengers: Endgame
- means that the events of the series happen before those of the only other project Marvel Studio has released since
Spider-Man: Far From Home
. That series is set the summer after the Blip, and it seems about a year passes between the events of the two movies.
One development that appears to take place in between these two projects is S.W.O.R.D.’s status in outer space. In
WandaVision
, Hayward explains to Rambeau that the space side of S.W.O.R.D. isn’t doing very well due to many agents in that department getting dusted, and many of those remaining developing a fear of space travel. However, by the post-credits scene of
Far From Home
(which occurs at an unknown time), Nick Fury is seen working alongside a group of Skrulls aboard what appears to be a space station for S.W.O.R.D. It’s possible that a project like
Secret Invasion
, which will feature Fury and Skrulls, will fill in these gaps.

The placement of
WandaVision
in the MCU timeline raises a lot of other questions as well. The series is confirmed to somehow lead into
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
, which is supposedly set after the
untitled third
Spider-Man
movie
, which itself takes place after
Far From Home
. It remains to be seen exactly how
WandaVision
will connect to the
Doctor Strange
sequel, but it’s possible that time will elapse between the end of the former’s events and the beginning of the latters.
