The Marvel Cinematic Universe is just over a week away from kicking off
the biggest year since its inception
. This will start with
WandaVision’s
premiere coming as the first of six properties on Disney+ alongside four MCU movies arriving before the end of 2021.
This May will bring the release of
Loki
on Disney+, Tom Hiddleston’s first solo project after starring in the MCU for the past decade. After Loki evolved from anti-hero to villain before sacrificing his life like a true hero, this adventure will pick up from his most heinous days
after stealing the tesseract from Stark Tower

As is the case with any MCU project,
Loki
will hold more than a fair share of Easter eggs over the course of its run on Disney+. One of these Easter Eggs was just discovered in a recent social media blast.

A Reddit user
recently discovered that the elevator shaft at the beginning of the
Loki
trailer is from the same building that was shown in the first teaser
trailer
for 2017’s
Spider-Man: Homecoming
. Michael Keaton’s Vulture flew down this shaft in that teaser, although this shot never appeared in the movie.

WHAT THIS MEANS
In real life, this building is actually the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, a Marriott hotel located in Atlanta, Georgia. Thanks to its impressive interior architecture, the hotel has been used as scenery for a number of big-budget productions beyond Marvel Studios, including
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
and 2012’s
Flight.
The double appearance of this location in two “unrelated” MCU projects is nothing more than a coincidence considering so many of Marvel Studios’ productions are filmed in Atlanta. Still, a double-dip of on-location is a fun little Easter egg for fans to enjoy who have stuck with the MCU for the past few years.
The biggest change here is that the scene from Loki will likely play a somewhat significant role once the show premieres due to the prominence of the Time Variance Authority. The shot from
Spider-Man: Homecoming
was confirmed
to only be used for promotional purposes
in the trailers, although nothing has been confirmed similarly for
the shot from the
Loki
trailer
.

The shot of the Time Variance Authority elevator will likely come fairly early in the Disney+ series as Loki finds his way into trouble once again. Fans are also highly anticipating finding out more about the inner contents of the elevator, notably the wacky floor numbers and
an expansion into Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius
.
