Marvel Studios broke new ground with Loki as viewers were formally introduced to the existence of an infinite number of timelines that now make up the multiverse. Along with this, fans were treated to the first look at alternate versions of existing characters, dubbed Variants by the TVA.
Within the Disney+ series, most of the Variants featured were of Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief including Richard E. Grant’s Classic Loki, DeObia Oparei’s Boastful Loki, Jack Veal’s Kid Loki, and even an Alligator version.

Amongst these, comic readers immediately clued on to the potential future of Kid Loki as a member of the Young Avengers, a team Marvel Studios have been setting up since the beginning of Phase 4.
As of now, a Young Avengers project has yet to be announced by Disney and Marvel, however, Disney+’s Kid Loki actor commented on the possibility of an MCU return in the potential team-up.
KID LOKI ACTOR ADDRESSES YOUNG AVENGERS POSSIBILITIES
In an exclusive interview with ComicBookMovie, Kid Loki actor Jack Veal spoke on the chances of his Thor-killing Variant returning to the MCU in a Young Avengers project down the line.
The fan-favorite actor shared that he “never expected to get this far,” calling his time in the MCU so far an “amazing journey.”
When asked about the potential of a Young Avengers team-up, Veal revealed that he “would love to do something as great as that,” but “as of now [he hasn’t] heard anything” about the idea from Marvel:
The Loki actor revealed that he “[doesn’t] know where Kid Loki is going or if it is going anywhere,” but he does think it “would be awesome to see” an “exploration of his backstory” or “what he does going forward:”
“It has already been such an amazing journey and I never expected to get this far. To make a step like that would be so surreal. I would love to do something as great as that, but as of now I haven’t heard anything of The Young Avengers from Marvel.”
WHERE COULD KID LOKI POP UP NEXT?
Kid Loki only had a minor role in the fifth episode of the Tom Hiddleston-led Disney+ series, but it opened the doors to a much bigger role down the line. Unlike Richard E. Grant’s Classic Loki, Veal’s Thor-killing Asgardian survived his debut as he ventured back out into The Void with the Alligator Loki Variant.
“I don’t know where Kid Loki is going or if it is going anywhere, but what I do know is that Kid Loki is such an intricate and complex character (after him killing Thor especially) that an exploration of his backstory and what he does going forward would be awesome to see.”
With Loki already renewed for a second season, the Disney+ follow-up is a logical place for Veal to next reprise his role if he does indeed have an MCU future. Recent comments suggested Marvel Studios doesn’t have any immediate plans to unite the Young Avengers, meaning it may be some time before the heroes team up.
Logically, the MCU still has plenty more groundwork to do before the team can finally unite. Both Ms. Marvel and Kate Bishop are making their MCU debuts later this year, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Eli Bradley has yet to suit up as Patriot. Meanwhile, Kid Loki and WandaVision’s super-powered twins are still lost in the multiverse.
All six episodes of Loki are streaming now on Disney+, but Jack Veal’s future Young Avenger can be found in the series’ fifth installment, “Journey Into Mystery.”
