The shot is from a scene in

The Rise of Skywalker

where Luke, now a Force ghost, shows Rey where he kept Leia’s lightsaber, and instructs her to take both his and Leia’s saber to Exegol.

In the film, the blue, hazy glow that’s been accompanying Force ghosts like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda surrounds Luke and makes him appear transparent. But, in this shot, that effect is absent.

Olley must have taken this shot while the scene was being filmed on set. This slightly stripped-down, pre-doctored still from such a heavy-CGI film offers a fascinating peek behind-the-scenes and showcases what the cast and crew saw during filming.

Jonathon Olley’s post also highlights an incredibly important moment from the film’s story. This is Rey’s turning point, and the moment she receives something from her fallen master that she will use to defeat both Palpatine and her fears about herself and her identity.

Lastly, it sets the stage for the final scene in the film where she buries both this saber and Luke’s before assuming the iconic Skywalker name and ending the Skywalker Saga.
