For the longest time,

Black Adam

, starring Dwayne Johnson, had been in development hell for quite some time, but only in recent years have the wheels finally begun to turn again. However, last year,

Jaume Collet-Serra joined the project as the director

with Dwayne Johnson solidifying his involvement.

Now, it seems like casting has begun with a surprising character joining the roster, which could point to even more comic book characters joining.

WHAT THIS MEANS

This character joining

Black Adam

has actually been a rumor

since March in 2019

, originally first reported by Charles Murphy. This means if Atom Smasher is now confirmed to join the cast, Stargirl will be following suit, if that initial rumor is to be believed.

However, that does make things slightly confusing for DC’s on-screen since the character already has an ongoing series on DC Universe and The CW now. But, that hasn’t stopped Warner Brothers from making a movie about The Flash, despite the character having his own series already.

Additionally, this casting means that it’s likely that Hawkman will make an appearance too, since he was included alongside Atom Smasher and Stargirl in the original.

“The studio will be looking to cast an actor, 30-39, to take on the role of [Hawkman] with an emphasis on landing someone the audience can believe could go toe-to-toe with [Black Adam].”

So, it seems like

Black Adam

could feature a lot of characters who are actually all connected to the Justice League of America members, which could also end up factoring into the movie.
