Ever since his first appearance in 2011’s Thor, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has been one of the MCU’s most beloved characters. After sharing the spotlight with Thor and the Avengers on the big screen and nearly being written out of the franchise multiple times, the God of Mischief will finally get a story of his own beginning next month on Disney+. Loki will focus on the title character’s adventures working with the Time Variance Authority after being captured for messing with the timeline when he escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame....

After the enormous success of the Spider-Man spin-off Venom at the box office, many expected Sony Pictures to stick with the same director for the sequel. Although, it was uncertain if director Ruben Fleischer would return until Sony announced that Andy Serkis would direct the sequel and the live-action debut of Carnage. Linda Cardellini, star of Netflix’s latest hit show, Dead Like Me , was first introduced as Clint Barton’s secret wife, Laura, in Avengers: Age of Ultron and was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. She acted as Clint’s normal life away from his superhero one. When her and the rest of his family are turned to dust by Thanos, he loses himself to his superhero life, becoming Ronin, and essentially beginning a killing spree of criminals and those he deemed unworthy to have survived Thanos’ actions....

Batwoman will enter a whole new chapter after the sudden departure of its lead star, Ruby Rose, last May. Considering that the hit CW series ended on a cliffhanger centered on Kate Kane during Season 1, the departure led to a massive overhaul for some story elements that will be explored in the sophomore run of the show. As a result, a brand new character in the form of Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder will don the Cape and Cowl from Kate, officially ushering in a new era for Batwoman moving forward....

DC Comics is back in a big way. While 2021 only had The Suicide Squad, by the time this year is done, the world will be half-a-dozen DC projects heavier. The first big film out of the gate was Matt Reeves’ The Batman, which saw Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight go up against Paul Dano’s Riddler. The film has become a massive box office success, starting Warner Bros.’ year out on the right footing....

Director Denis Villenevue made headlines this week, but not for the imminent release of his latest film. The Dune director suggested that Marvel films have turned audiences “into zombies” due to being “cut and paste” of others in the genre. Villenueve’s comments were reminiscent of legendary director Martin Scorsese’s infamous opinions on the comic book movie realm, who had previously likened superhero flicks to “theme parks.” ADVERTISEMENT Just as Scorsese’s remarks were met with backlash, Villeneuve’s words have been subject to criticism by some big names in Hollywood....

“This Big, Amazing, Beautiful Life” Ron Batzdorff/NBC In the second to last episode of season 2, creator Dan Fogelman made an unusual choice. Instead of focusing on the Big Three, the episode was almost entirely about Deja’s return to Beth and Randall’s home. Lyric Ross put on a stellar performance as Deja and it’s clear this girl has some serious acting chops. There are some beautiful moments throughout the episode, even including a Randall-esque speech given by Deja....

At DC FanDome last year, fans were surprised by the announcement of Gotham Knights. While the game looks like it is set within the same universe as the past Arkham-based games, it is in fact within its own continuity. But that hasn’t hurt the hype for this game. One thing that separates it from the previous Batman games is that Bruce Wayne isn’t among the living. The protection of the city now falls to the Gotham Knights: Jason Todd’s Red Hood, Tim Drake’s Robin, Barbra Gordon’s Batgirl, and Dick Grayson’s Nightwing....
