continues principal photography into early 2021
. A variety of photos are still leaking from the set of the highly anticipated DC film that reference various
characters
as well as
landmarks
that are standing in for the mean streets of Gotham City.
Filming started pre-pandemic in Liverpool and the bulk of principal photography appears to have still taken place there, but Warner Bros. has also chosen to shoot specific scenes in Chicago as well.

Actually, a fair few Bat-related shows and movies have filmed in Chicago: Christopher Nolan’s
Dark Knight
trilogy for one, but also The CW’s
Batwoman
travels to the Windy City for certain scenes and shots on occasion.

that appear to indicate that a familiar Chicago street is being used in a scene.

Indeed, this is the same strip of road where Batman almost ran over the Joker in 2008’s

WHAT THIS MEANS
As one can clearly see, this is the exact same location used in Nolan’s
The Dark Knight
. It’s precise name is South La Salle Street and the large building in the background is the Chicago Board of Trade Building.
Chicago film productions shooting on this street does not appear to be altogether uncommon but alternatively, could this be meant as a homage to Christopher Nolan’s famous film?

Parked on South La Salle Street is a Gotham City bus. Also visible is a newspaper vending machine marked “Gotham Gazette.” And finally, there’s a billboard for an upcoming mayoral election that seems to take place during the film’s story.
Additionally, the film crew seems to have added a certain level of Gotham-style grime to the street, likely making it look far more seedy than it usually does.
