This announcement was accompanied by a new logo showing the titular character and The Baby.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Comparing Both Logos

The new logo that came with the announcement isn’t too different from the original with the exception of a new blue color scheme and The Child walking alongside our favorite Mandalorian, no longer alone. It also appears that the logo is showing off a new, currently unknown planet.

Still, it’s a rather odd strategy to announce the release date through a Tweet rather than a trailer, as everyone was expecting. But, it seems like Disney+ is moving full steam ahead with this show to make sure that 2020 isn’t totally derived of content for their streaming service.

Considering that the primary strategy for maintaining subscribers for any streaming service is new content, Disney will want to debut another big-budget show before the end of December. The only real two candidates for this would be

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

and

WandaVision

, both of which still need to finish filming.

Recent news

about

both shows

points to good prospects, baring anymore delays, of filming finally finishing for both.

This means that it’s actually all the more likely that

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

could finally release on Disney+ shortly after

The Mandalorian

finishes its second season.
