“start very directly”
after the events of the season 1 finale while also teasing that Din Djarin is
“going into very dangerous territory.”
“We start very directly after the first [season] and he’s going into very dangerous territory. He is very much a passenger to the experience in unexpected ways — not knowing what’s to come, not knowing how much or how best to protect the Child. We don’t know how far he will go to do that, and they’re finding new ways to push the envelope.”
Pascal pointed out that the motivations of Mando will be tested throughout the second season, with the character

During the first season, the presence of time jumps weren’t entirely addressed in-universe, but it was clear during the latter half that so much time had passed throughout the adventures of Din Djarin and The Child. This was evident during
the seventh episode
of the inaugural season, which shows how Kuill took some time in fixing IG-11 and by pointing out that Baby Yoda hadn’t changed much since their last encounter. It remains to be seen if the second season will still include time jumps, but the relentless pursuit of Moff Gideon to regain The Child should signify that there will be less fast forwards this time around.
