aired, with viewers hoping Rosario Dawson would take the role, and in Episode 5 of Season 2, all prayers were answered.

, Dawson looked every bit the part of Ahsoka. Her role in the episode provided the Mandalorian and his young Jedi companion some much-needed guidance, as well as a name for Baby Yoda (aka Grogu). It also gave an update on Ahsoka’s journey since her last appearance at the end of

January 29th is known as Ahsoka Tano day in the Star Wars fandom as it marks the day that the character was first introduced in
The Clone Wars
back in 2008. Having made the role her own, it’s nice to see Dawson engaging in the celebrations while also paying tribute to the original actress, Ashley Eckstein. Some were initially upset that Eckstein wouldn’t be playing Ahsoka in the live-action space, but there seems to be
nothing but love between the two actresses

so this video is an intriguing look at the behind-the-scenes work that went into her character. Dawson clearly spent a lot of time in the makeup chair each day, but all that hard work definitely paid off.
