Marvel’s recent foray into streaming may be all the rage right now, but let’s not forget the show that started the Disney+ craze: The Mandalorian. It’s been quite a while since Season 2 finished its run, and with everything still airing at a rapid pace when it comes to Disney+ originals, Mando has a lot of competition when it comes to holding viewers’ attention. Of course, there was the recent drama coming from Gina Carano and her unsavory comments getting her fired. It’s something that obviously isn’t the best attention to receive for one’s show. Sadly, it doesn’t seem like fans will be getting a proper third season of The Mandalorian anytime soon. With Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett having just wrapped production, it would seem that it will be taking The Mandalorian’s usual spot this year. That means that it might not be until next fall that fans will see the proper continuation of Mando’s story. Until then, though, Disney has its eyes on the Emmys, hoping that The Mandalorian will bring in the wins.  MANDALORIAN AIMS FOR THE EMMY

A month ago, The Direct covered Disney’s The Mandalorian Emmy campaign poster. The poster mainly covered the acting side of matters. Now, Disney officially unveiled all the other categories that they are aiming for and the subjects to which they are attributing to them. ADVERTISEMENT

Before going into all the new categories, it’s worth noting that Gina Carano’s name is still on the list for Supporting Actress In A Drama Series. Ludwig Goransson WILL THE MANDALORIAN SUCCEED? The Mandalorian has plenty of competition when it comes to Emmy’s attention. Put aside the fact that there are countless other shows out there, Disney is also heavily competing with itself—seeing as both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are eyeing the same prizes. Though, if it’s all Disney, was there really any competition in the first place? It’s great to see Dave Filoni’s name on the lists a couple of times. That man has done so much for Star Wars and is only now getting the recognition he deserves. With all the newfound attention on him, one can only hope that Disney will see that he is truly the future of the franchise.  ADVERTISEMENT

For now, Star Wars fans will have to set their attention to Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett for their next Star Wars fix. While the show will mainly focus on Boba Fett, at least Lucasfilms seems to be treating the show as if it were Season 2.5 of The Mandalorian.
