When
Loki
was announced as one of the first MCU Disney+ series to be created, fans all over the world were absolutely thrilled. Despite Loki’s presence in the MCU for almost a decade, fans just can’t seem to get enough of him.
The
Loki
series was originally expected in Spring 2021, but the 2020 coronavirus pandemic has delayed the series’ release. The series
resumed shooting
in September, but no updated release window has been given by Marvel Studios.

In mid-November, Executive Vice President of Marvel Studios Victoria Alonso
gave a timeframe
of
“four to five weeks”
for how much longer they needed in order to wrap filming on the
Loki
series. So, they should be
just
about finished, if they haven’t wrapped already. How much longer will fans have to wait for the god of mischief’s return?
CONFIRMATION
Announced at the Disney Investor Day 2020,
Loki
will officially be released on Disney+ in May 2021. The announcement was accompanied by the
first-ever trailer
for the highly anticipated series, which can be viewed below.

WHAT THIS MEANS
Wow, there’s so much to unpack in this new footage. But, first, fans are surely ecstatic that
Loki
will still be coming in the first half of 2021. It does make sense since they are almost done filming (or finished at this point). This gives the team at Marvel Studios about six months to put the show together and get it ready for the world, which should be more than enough time to make it truly
“glorious.”
The trailer starts with familiar footage from 2019’s
Avengers: Endgame
, when the alternate version of Loki gets away with the Tesseract. But, instead of following the
Endgame
narrative past that point, the show will instead follow Loki as he escapes, which presents so many super exciting implications.
Fans also finally get their first look at Owen Wilson in the series, which confirms the assumptions that he would be working for the Time Variance Authority (TVA). The TVA seems to take a real issue with Loki, as he shows his disgust while the TVA shows on a projector Loki’s most recent run-in with the Avengers in New York.

A projection spelling “Roxxcart” can also be seen as heavily armed men enter the room, alluding to the potential involvement of the comic-famous Roxxon Energy Corporation that’s been sneakily established in the MCU over the years.
The theories that will come of this trailer release will truly be spectacular, as fans all over the world finally have something substantial from
Loki
to sink their teeth into. The MCU drought is coming to a close, and 2021 is going to pick up with a bang.
Loki
looks to be quite the crime drama and will only add to the epic MCU slate that awaits fans in 2021.
