landing in Atlanta, Georgia in short succession. Not much is officially known about
Spider-Man 3
, besides it
involving Doctor Strange
and
Jamie Foxx as Electro
.
Otherwise, the rest is a wild amount of rumors, from a full-on multiverse movie involving
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield
to Peter being hunted down by
Spider-Slayers
. However, one key plot point for sure is that the world now knows that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, due to Mysterio pulling one last trick at the end of
Spider-Man: Far From Home
.

A new report from Atlanta seems to indicate that the Midtown School of Science and Technology seen in both previous Spider-Man movies will continue to play a vital role.

, despite the pandemic moratorium for that school district not only for in-person learning but film productions, the production for
Spider-Man 3
has received special permission from Atlanta Public Schools to film at Frederick Douglass High School in January and at Henry W. Grady High School

as a location manager, described the request as
“unique and very time-sensitive,”
and that he had
“exhausted our normal channels of communication”
before appealing to the school board members and Superintendent Lisa Herring.

In an e-mail obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Easterbrook wrote that "
I know that APS is currently not accepting filming applications due to the COVID pandemic, and I know that filming a new movie quickly falls to the bottom of the priority list,"
and further described the two schools as
“vital to the success of this next film”
as they were already used in
Spider-Man: Homecoming
.
Due to both schools having already been used before by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios for the
Spider-Man
franchise, Ian Easterbrook’s requests on behalf of both studios, and a $50,000 incentive, lead to production for
Spider-Man 3
being allowed in both schools.
WHAT THIS MEANS
It will be interesting to see how the rest of Peter’s classmates react to his secret identity being revealed by Mysterio, especially Flash Thompson, who was shown to be a huge fan of Spider-Man in
Far From Home
while simultaneously insulting Parker.
