As has been the case throughout the season, “Breaking the Fourth Wall” was filled with references to classic sitcoms, this time from the 21st century. This could be heard in the entry’s music as well, with a theme song paying direct tribute to
The Office
and an unexpected Disney-style villain number helping Agatha go full villain.
Taking a look at the episode’s credits, it appears that the actress behind Agatha deserves more credit for this song than some fans may have expected.

, Kathryn Hahn’s Agnes gets to be the star of a catchy musical number similar to the show’s opening theme songs after she reveals herself to be Agatha Harkness.

The song, entitled “Agatha All Along,” has a very similar beat and tone to the theme song from the classic TV sitcom
The Munsters
, which ran from 1964 to 1966, and it includes spookish title cards paying tribute to the show as well.

Music has been a major component that Marvel Studios has used to help bring the multiple sitcom eras of
WandaVision
to life. The theme songs were written taking every unique decade’s music as inspiration, helping set the feel of the time period right from the start,
all composed by
Frozen
songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
.
While
The Munsters
aired almost four decades prior to the sitcoms used for inspiration in “Episode 7”, the style of the music fit perfectly with Agatha being a witch, one, who’s comic counterpart, is close to as powerful as Wanda Maximoff to boot.

As for Hahn’s involvement, it simply shows off her impressive range as a performer by jumping into a recording booth and being the voice behind her own entrance music. Hahn has flexed her singing chops in her previous works, perhaps most notably in Apple TV+’s animated musical comedy
Central Park.

had initially tried to get Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany into the studio
to sing one of the early theme songs as well, although it never came to be. but it’s fantastic to see that Hahn got the opportunity to show off her musical talents alongside her fantastic on-screen portrayal of Agatha Harkness.
Hahn’s appearance in the credits was a welcome behind-the-scenes surprise as the story of

continues to surprise with every new episode.
