Wandavision Scene Detail Suggests Wanda S In Full Control Of Agnes

In “Episode 6,” Wanda expanded her hex

to encompass an undisclosed amount of additional land in order to keep Vision inside and S.W.O.R.D. out — or, in all actuality, in — for good. This only speaks to the Scarlet Witch’s seemingly complete control over everyone inside the New Jersey town, including her own neighbor.

“Nosy neighbor” Agnes

, played by Kathryn Hahn, has had an ongoing presence in

WandaVision

since “Episode 1,” showing up at just the right time with just the right solution in hand for the Maximoff-Vision household. Many fans and viewers alike have speculated that Hahn’s Agnes could eventually turn out to be Agatha Harkness, a comic book mentor to Wanda.

However, another ongoing theory is that

Agnes may be working with overarching villain Mephisto

to keep Wanda in check inside her sitcom-inspired reality.

A closer look at a brief reality-breaking moment a few episodes ago, though, might debunk that latter thought…

in which Vision begins to suspect that something is awry when Kathryn Hahn’s Agnes pays him and Wanda’s home a visit.

When Agnes looks perplexed as to what to say when Vision starts questioning her, Wanda can be seen tapping Agnes’ arm, seemingly prompting her to laugh along with the witch as to avoid any suspicion from the synthezoid.

It’s safe to say that at this point, it’s unclear who the true villain of

WandaVision

is. Whether it’s

Mephisto

Nightmare

(another comic book villain), Agnes,

or even Wanda herself

, the show’s twisted way of storytelling has kept viewers guessing from the start.

Still, one overarching ideology has been that Agnes is up to

something

. When “Episode 4” premiered and S.W.O.R.D. began its case on Wanda’s Hex, Agnes was

one of the few Westview residents that didn’t have an actual identity tied to her on-screen persona

Furthermore, nearly every outfit Agnes has donned has been topped off with a brooch showcasing three figures with one holding a scythe, hinting at her possible connection to the devilish Mephisto.

Still, if Wanda’s having to literally nudge Agnes along when things get shaky, then maybe Agnes isn’t the evil mistress many have already made her out to be. It’s possible that Agnes is, in fact, also being helplessly controlled by Wanda.

It’s also worth noting that before this instance, when matters have gone awry in Westview (i.e. the unexpected S.W.O.R.D. “beekeeper” and Vision’s questioning in “Episode 3”) Wanda’s world, simply put, reversed itself, almost like a VHS tape rewinding. Why wouldn’t Wanda, or whoever is in control, do this again rather than physically urging Agnes along and keep the scene going as per usual?

Either way, something still isn’t right with either Agnes
