After Bo-Katan’s followers and the Republic forces took back Mandalore from the former Sith Lord, Maul, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex were escorting the prisoner back to Coruscant. Then came a disturbance in the Force, felt by Ahsoka, and the order was given to Rex and the rest of the clones to hunt and kill any Jedi Knights for “treason” against the Republic. After Ahsoka narrowly escaped and used Maul as a distraction, she learned it was the inhibitor chips placed in the clones’ brains that were causing them to follow these horrific orders. She proceeded to take out Rex’s chip, and viewers were left wondering how the two friends would get out of this catastrophe.

WHAT THIS MEANS
There’s no doubt that these last few episodes of
The Clone Wars
, and the final season in general, have been absolutely remarkable and have been
praised by the fandom
on a variety of social media platforms. And the results will likely be the same with this series finale. Because the footage in the video is extremely brief, there’s not much to take away from it. After their surprising and welcome appearance in
Star Wars Rebels
, audiences know that Ahsoka, Rex, and Maul will survive this ordeal, but they don’t know how. This clip teases the method of their getaway and a potential fight against other clones, which will definitely be a heart-breaking moment for Rex as he will have to go up against his brothers that he’s fought with for so long.

The other major moment here is Maul (still!) strolling down the ship’s corridor with ease. In the last episode, everyone witnessed the brutality of Maul’s skills as he single-handedly wiped out a number of clone troopers without a lightsaber. Fans immediately started to
compare it to Vader’s big moment
from
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
. Maul actor, Sam Witwer, has gone on record
telling viewers to be patient
in that comparison, because Maul’s scene isn’t quite finished. There is still much to speculate on for this installment, but all will be unveiled this Monday as it airs on Disney+.
