. Following this release will be Zack Snyder’s Director’s Cut of
Justice League
, finally releasing to the public after teases and discussions surrounding it throughout 2020.
The cut is set to be a four-hour epic
that will give the original, full story of the DCEU team-up movie, which will be a completely new rendition of the 2017 theatrical release.

News has just arrived that DC Comics was even looking to expand on this story in the comics for a time before going in a different direction.

, comic book writer Scott Snyder (who has no relation to director Zack Snyder) revealed that he was called in to assist on a comic book adaptation and
“expansion”
of the mythology of Zack Snyder’s
Justice League
film in the DCEU. Scott Snyder turned down the offer, which was reported as a comic adaptation and expansion of the mythology of the Snyder Cut, giving this quote explaining his reasoning in jest:
“I had a lot of jobs ahead of me and I can’t deal with people confusing us anymore.”

It’s abundantly clear that Scott Snyder realizes the potential for confusion in this hilarious situation, considering both he and Zack are so involved in the world of DC Comics yet share no blood relation to one another.

This scrapped comic idea would have been quite the look into
how Warner Bros and DC Films had originally planned out the DCEU
, which included
Justice League
as a two-part movie similar to the MCU’s
Avengers: Infinity War
and
Avengers: Endgame
. It’s still a complete mystery as to the story that would have been told in the second part, which was originally scheduled for release in June 2019 after the first movie’s release in November 2017.
As for Scott Snyder’s other commitments that kept him away from this comic run, the details behind his refusal are murky, although it must have been tough to plan the right story considering how much the DCEU slate ended up shuffling around. This ended up completely changing Zack Snyder’s vision for the DCEU after his departure from the original
Justice League
midway through production, and it seems most likely that the story planned so many years ago may never see the light of day now.
